Transcontinental Inc.'s revenues grew eight percent in the third quarter of 2012, up from $479.4 million to $517.0 million. The increase is largely due to Transcontinental’s acquisition of Quad Canada, Inc. and Redux Media, as well a number of new printing contracts and the launch of new community newspapers in Quebec.
Overall, profits were down three percent for the Montreal-based media company due to reduced educational book sales, printing contract incentives and lower community newspaper ad revenues.
