Darren Murphy returns as publisher of The Peterborough Examiner and the Lindsay Post, after a stint as vice-president of advertising for the Toronto Sun, 24 Hours and torontosun.com. Murphy, who was born in Peterborough and started his career at the Examiner as a salesperson before being named publisher in 2006, will also be regional advertising director for Sun Media in Eastern Ontario, overseeing papers in Northumberland, Trenton, Belleville, Brockville, Stirling, Pembroke, Picton, Napanee, Ottawa, Kingston and Cornwall. Former Examiner publisher Gordon Brewerton has left Sun Media.
