Two new staff members are joining La Presse in Montreal. Sophie Lussier has been appointed as the new senior director of communications and Reneault Poliquin has been named general manager of sales.

In her newly created communications role, Lussier will develop and implement La Presse’s internal and external communications strategies. She will also be responsible for the management of service operations in business communication and will oversee reader relations and special events. Lussier previously served as the director of communications at tourism company Transat A.T. Inc. Prior to that she held the position of director of public affairs at Optimum Public Relations.

In his sales role, Poliquin will be responsible for all the operations and management of teams in the Development, Retail, Special Sections and Classified Advertising divisions at La Presse. He will also be in charge of designing and implementing an integrated multi-platform development plan for these divisions. Poliquin has over 25 years of advertising sales experience and most recently held the position of vice-president, digital sales, 360° solutions, and major accounts, at TC Media.
