Newspaper veteran and current Canadian Newspaper Association president Peter Kvarnstrom has been appointed president, B.C. Community Media for Glacier Media.
Kvarnstrom began his career in the newspaper industry in 1991, working as a sales rep at the North Shore News. In 1997, Kvarnstrom left the paper and relocated to Sechelt, British Columbia where he partnered with Madison Publishing to launch a new community newspaper, the Coast Reporter. When Glacier Media acquired Madison Publishing in 2005, Kvarnstrom took on the position of President, B.C. Operations.
Kvarnstrom is currently the president of the Canadian Newspaper Association and served as president of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association from 2004 to 2005. He has also served the community newspaper industry as a Combase director and president of the BC & Yukon Community Newspaper Association.
