Shawn Cornell is taking over as the new publisher for the Canmore Leader in Canmore, Alberta. Cornell will also serve as publisher for Sun Media’s Banff Crag & Canyon, Cochrane Times and Strathmore Standard.

Cornell has been in the newspaper industry for over 20 years and has spent the last 10 years at Sun Media. He started out as the national advertising manager at the Calgary Sun before taking on publishing roles at community newspapers.

He replaces Darryl Mills, who had served as publisher for Canmore, Banff, the Airdrie Echo and Cochrane Times since 2008.
