Current and former staff members from the Toronto Star have been honoured with Diamond Jubilee Medals. Education reporter Louise Brown, former disabilities reporter Helen Henderson and former photographer Boris Spremo were among the 600 individuals honoured at a gala event held in Toronto on June 18.
The medals are designed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne. Approximately 60,000 medals have been struck for distribution to deserving citizens from all sectors of society.
