Winnipeg Free Press editor Margo Goodhand to step down

After five years as the editor for the Winnipeg Free Press, Margo Goodhand is resigning from her position effective July 31. Goodhand first joined the newspaper in 1991 and worked as a columnist, copy editor and deputy editor of special projects, before becoming the paper’s first female editor in 2007.

In an article for the Free Press, Goodhand shared the reasoning behind her decision to leave the paper. “Those who know me know I really like change. I think most people in this business thrive on it," she said. "But there’s a time when you look around and you’ve done pretty much everything you set out to do. And I’ve always wanted to go out on a high note."
