Newfoundland government passes Bill 29 to amend Access to Information laws
Following approximately 70 hours of filibuster debate, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador has passed a new Bill to amend the current Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. With the passing of Bill 29, freedom of information requests for ministerial briefings and information that ared deemed “frivolous, systemic or repetitive” can now be exempted. Read more » |

Correction for News on News – June 13, 2012
In the June 13, 2012 edition of News on News, an item titled “Victoria Times Colonist wins 2011 Michener Award” incorrectly identified Glacier Media-owned newspaper the Victoria Times Colonist as a Postmedia publication. Vancouver-based Glacier Media Inc. purchased the daily newspaper from Postmedia in October 2011. Newspapers Canada apologizes for the error. |
